I looked thru the slot on the backing plate but didn't see the adjusting star I expected. Is there something special about adjusting these wheels I need to know?

SOUNDS LIKE TIME TO PULL BRAKE DRUM OFF AND MAKE SURE PARTS WERE PUT IN RIGHT PLACE ON A OLDER BRAKE JOB .HAVE SEEN ADJUSTERS FLIPPED BACKWARDS MANY TIMES.
