I have a rare 1969 Camaro convertible with a 2 speed automatic on the colume. How many of these were made? I can't find another one anywhere in the country.

If your car has the # matching 327 then it's not an SS. In 67-69 SS Camaros either had a 350 or 396.

If you have a "COPO" with a numbers matching 327, you quite simply have a nice looking COPO clone. All COPO's came with the 427 and were delivered to dealerships plain Jane with no badging so as not to alert the unsuspecting chap in the lane next to you. COPO's came with a set of headers in the trunk to be installed by the dealership and are the basis of the legendary "YENKO's" which were all built from Central OfficeProduction Order vehicles and all had the L72 427 super Camaro engine with 11 to 1 compresion ratios capable of 12 second 1/4 s right off the lot. The exact production numbers for the COPO's is not known some say a small 2-300 we do know that a little over 1,000 L72 super camaro motors were built specifically for the production of this car. Well a COPO Camaro in and of itself is pretty rare. Only 200 or so were made in 1969. I've only heard of the COPO's having a 427 engine though. Interesting, I'll have to look into this more.
