The chrome definately goes in before you install the window. You will nedd your very best friend to hold it all together while you are inside installing the bead. Set your chrome and get an 1/8 ' diameter nylon cord. shove it in the grove all the way around and let 8 inches hang out at the ends. Coat the rubber with vegtable oil generous and place it against the opening. While your friend is holding and pushing slightly on the windshield, pull the cords each direction from center, and around the windshield until the cord is completely removed. This will set the rubber without tweaking the glass and blowing it up. Cheers
