I'm repainting the inside of a hatchback trunk lid to match the outside color of the vehicle it will be going on. The inside of the trunk lid will be covered with plastic skin trim, and may only show in small discrete areas after the plastic trim is installed. The inside metal would be very hard to sand to break the gloss of the trunk lid's original color because it consists of a lot of curves, bends in the metal, and small rails. I was wondering if anyone has ever used the liquid paint deglosser, like that which is available in quarts at hardware stores, Home Depot, etc. with any success. I wouldn't be using i on the exterior of the trunk lid, just the inside metal surface of the trunk lid to break the gloss and repaint it with color-matching custom mix spray paint from a company like http://www.automotivetouchup.com Thanks.
