1949 mccormick tractor
It will not fire it has sat for long time. I took the ground wire off the mag, anyone have some hints to look for on the tractor. its a 6 cylinder eng

have you checked for spark at the plugs,sometimes the mags get rust inside and need to be cleaned.next would be to check compression to see if valves are stuck open .carbs have been known to gum up from bad gas and restrict fuel flow. pull a plug if it is damp no spark likely .a shot of starting fluid in carb good way to test for fuel flow.another problem could be the sparkplug wires are so weathered they are shorting out.
