1957 chevy 4400 flatbed ,, is this exactly the same size cab as a normal 57 3100 ????? can i drop this truck down in wheel size ????? and use a short step side deck ??? of course will have to loose the duels and shorten the length of chassis but thats the easy bit I think ??

did the 3800 and 4400 come out with power steering ??

cab should be the same ,as is the hood .fenders are different . {larger wheel wells and flared out } hand brake could be in different spot. there were 18 and 19.5 inch wheels ,but tires are almost impossible to find , hard to see any change. easiest way would be to find a 55-59 chassis with both axles and steering gear .the 1 ton trucks had power steering as an option .it was not in the gear but used a control valve and cylinder hooked to tie rods or pitman arm.
