Canadian built '50 Chevy truck.. deciphering serial (and other numbers)
Hey all. I am having a tough time deciphering these numbers for my new old 1950 Chevy pickup. I know it was made in Canada, hence the odd looking numbers. I've found difficulty finding all the info. I did find one page of info, but I'm not too sure how to read it all. I only know that the truck was built in 1950. Any help would be appreciated, as I'm trying to budget for repairs, and there's a big difference in 3/4 ton and 1 ton costs.
model 1434
serial 0143417503
engine x392011
trim 394
paint 32
body serial 1543

if the box is 9 or 10 ft it probaly is a 1 ton .most 3/4tons had 8 ft boxes.all cab and fenders should be the same .frame and box are not the same the pig in rear end could have 5.14 or .17 gears, the 3/4tons had 4.56 and 4.11 ratios

I have a 1950 Chevy 1314 built in Canada. I cant find it now but somewhere on the internet there is an email address for GM of Canada and you can send them your VIN and mailing address and they send you a fact sheet about your truck. Color codes for paint, interior, production and ship date. Where it was shipped to and other information like how many where build. I did this about 10 years ago and now i cant find the info.
