Where do I find the VIN on a 1949 Chev Truck 3100
The title VIN and the plate on the drivers door do not match. We have looked everywhere and can't find it. The truck has been repainted and the engine rebuilt with the engine compartment redone.

I believe for that year there were 3 locations.
*On a plate attached to rear face of left-hand door hinge pillar
*On right side of cowl under hood
*On plate temporarily attached near steering column, with final location per body maker.
