This is regarding a 1963 Impala SS Convertible. Vin #31867J285752.
It has a 409 in it now..................but I am trying to find out if this was a "true" 409 car from the factory..........................

THis is impossible to tell as the Vin will only tell you if it is a v8 and they did not stamp the partial vin on the block in 63. Knowing the cars history is key. If the car is original remove the back seat and see if your build sheet is still under the seat. Stroke of luck if it is
