Im looking at a 1968 camaro I would like to know if it is a true SS
With the original paint color and interior. I looked on the tag on the firewall under the hood on the drivers side this is what it says

There are no codes on the trim tag to identify a 1968 Chevy Camaro as a Z28 or an SS

Yes same as what the last person said, you cannot tell by the trim tag or VIN if it is a true SS.
Also, did you say that this car is the original color? Because your trim tag would state that the original color is Lemans Blue.

Since the SS was a performance package, the engine is one of the most important parts of an SS Camaro. The original SS engine is required to identify the car as possibly being a true SS.
