how can I obtain a title for a 1948 Ford I recently purchased
I am under the impression that older cars did not have titles the way today's cars do.
the seller simply provided a signed over registration from Conn., along with a notarized bill of sale
now I want to export the car to Dominican Republic & exported is requesting a title.
any help appreciated
thanks

Check the Conn. department of motor vehicles for getting a lost title. I did a small search and it looks like you walk in the dmv with the correctly signed papers, 25 bucks will get you a title. There may be inspections as well. Be patient with the desk jockey and it helps. As long as the serial numbers are legible on the car there should be a way to do it. There may even be numbers on the frame that could help.
