What newer automatic transmission would fit a 1962 Pontiac Catalina, 2bbl w/single exhaust ???
Is there one that would bolt right up ???

No, your best bet is to purchase an adapter and bolt up a TH400 tranny. Here is a link to a company who makes the adapter, http://www.transmissionadapters.com/early_pontiac.htm

You may have to do some slight modifications of the transmission tunnel to get the 400 to fit, not much though and you will be glad you did it!! Another place which manufactures an adapter is Wilcap Co. their web site is
