My Serial # is 31747F------ and the cowl plate # has style 63-1847 Body FC9755 Trim 853 Paint 918
Paint and interior is original as far as I have been able to tell and the factory where car was built is the same on both numbers. The guy I got the car from removed a locked V-8 engine and installed a 350 and said he left the orginial exhaust manifolds, header pipes, tail pipes and powerglide transmission.

Do a online title search. it will tell you of all the past owners. And ask the person whom bought it what it came with.

Yeah, I would say somebody made a big mistake! You might be able to find an additional serial number stamped on the frame or a build sheet hidden somewheres in the car, but unless you want to tear the whole car apart it might not be worth it to you.
