Trouble starting '82 CJ7 (258 CID) after a week of no use.
When not used for a week or so, requires several starting attempts. Procedure involves pumping the accelarator during each start attempt, usually takes three to four attmpts before starting. have also tried by one pre-start pump (to activate choke) with no success. Any suggestions ??

sounds like fuel is leaking out of carb.to check this remove air cleaner ,keep choke from closing.while looking in top of carb pump the throtle several times gas should spit inside carb when doing this.if no gas is seen ,pour about a 1/2 oz of gas.in carb then start engine.if it fires this way the carb bowl was empty.
