I have a 64 nova 2-door hard top with a factory 283 and 4-speed, is that rare?
It is a 400 series and it has a lock out reverse on the shiffter. I have looked at many nova's but never seen one like mine. I read something that said that the 400 series only had a six cylinder and that only the super sports had v-8's. then I looked at a bunch of super sports and they all had 327's in them. I was just wondering if anyone had any input about this?

Unfortunately Chevrolet didn't keep track of the production of individual models, engines and so forth. The only information available is 10,576 Chevy II Nova's were produced with the Super Sport "SS" option.

In 1964, 25,083 Chevy Nova's were made with a 283 and I believe out of those 3,566 had a 4-speed.
