What is causing oil build up on my engine?
What is the cause of oil collecting on the engine of my 1965 Oldsmobile F85? Especially around the distributor housing?

Have you checked to see if you have a ruptured gasket on the ends of the push rod cover plate beneath the intake manifold?

Also, there should be a gasket between the distributor and the intake. You need to pull the distributor up to see if it is bad. Take care to get it back where it was so you don't mess up the timing! Good Luck! Mark
