How can I find out the original colors, motor, etc of my 73 Nova?

Look for the Fisher Body Tag. The body tag on your car contains vital information regarding the model, body style, paint color, interior color, and date of manufacture are all found on this metal tag. The tag should be located on the right hand side of the cowl.

I used the cowl tag and got all that info. Now I'm wanting to know what kind of engine and tranny came in it, originaly. Is there any way to find this information?? Thanks for any help anyone can offer.

To locate engine codes, on a 6-cylinder engine, the code is stamped on a pad on the passenger side of the block to the rear of the distributor and above the fuel pump. V8 engine codes are stamped on a pad forward of the cylinder head on the passenger side of the block. Post your results here and someone should be able to decode them for you.
