1959 Star Chief 389-420A
Would like information on the '59 389 cu. in. 420A. I'm sure it wasn't the standard stock engine used in the Pontiacs of that year. Any info would be greatly appreciated.

A 420A 389 was not standard in the StarChief's, someone most likely custom ordered it. A rare find!! Do you have a block code you could post? This would help identify what it is. Is it a tripower engine?
