secound symbol = price class = P (Premium (500 & SE))
third & fourth symbol = body type = 23 (2 door hard top)
fifth symbol = engine cu. in. = G (V-8 318)
sixth symbol = model year = 1 (1971)
seventh symbol = assembly plant = A (Lynch Rd., Detroit)
last six symbols = sequence number starting at 100001 for each series at each plant = 158505 (number 58,505 of the 500 series built at the Lynch Rd., Detroit plant)
