What is the best way to preserve chrome from corrosion on a vehicle?

I think just a little elbow grease does the trick. Just take care of the chrome with frequent rubbing and wiping. Chrome loves to be handled, rubbed or wiped. Ever notice how the driver's side door handle is always in the best condition of any chrome on the car???

a good remedy is to also keep a good coat of wax on it that is what i have always done
