does the vin denote on a 1967 Impala whether it is a true SS? If so how do you decode the numbers
VIN 168677J13268 she's a convertible, is that the 67 in the 4th and 5th digits? What does the rest of the #'s and letter mean?

the second and third symbols should be a "67" or a "68" for it to be a super sport. if you need help decoding just post your VIN number.

In addition, the 4th & 5th digits should be 87 = 2 door sport coupe (Impala SS)

68 = Series: Impala SS V8 (1966-1967)
67 = Body Style: 2 Door Convertible
7 = Model Year: 1967
J = Assembly Plant: Janesville, WI.
13268 = Sequence of Production at all plants
