Where can I get a Pontaic 316?
anyone know where i can find a 316 brand new for a 56 star chief alonng with all the goodies to strap it down and go? rebuilds out here start from 3,200 and then go up. i'm being told by people that apparently "know what they're talking about" and say that 3,200 is to much to pay to rebuild the original 316 i have. anyone know of such a place that sells a brand new drop in ready engine for that same amount or less along with shipping? i'm a non-believer of such a deal existing but i could be wrong.

If you're out in California, you might want to try
www.pontiacparts.net/
. They are a supplier of NOS and reproduction parts for classic Pontiac's specializing in 1926 to the 1970's.

#3200 is crazy for that motor, somebody is selling U allot of work U don't need, I would think off the top, $1200 is plenty if U have good castings, if U need something, U can ask me back.
