I have a BOP 350 Tranny with a short tail. I wanting to put it in a 350 Chevy Tranny with a long tail. In other words just swap them. Do I have to go into the transmission and gut it to do this. posted:  February 14, 2008   street454      Make a plate that elongates the tailhousing mounting point on the tranny crossmember, then shorten your driveshaft. That might be easier than pulling 2 trannys apart. posted:  February 14, 2008   rt      You have to change out put shaft which means you have to remove all the clutch packs and shafts.
