We bought a 302 from Checkers about 2 years ago. We are now attempting to identify the year. We can not find much info on the engine itself. We did find "Mexico" stamped on it. There is a small metal plate on the back of the engine with these numbers: 2730 on one side of the plate. On the other side: 860070. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

You are really fortunate to have this block,the SBF Mexican block is a sturdy casting and is prefered for a performance build some do not have conventional date codes.For more detailed info on this block visit :www.sbftech.com
