Have you ordered a Marti Auto Report on your vehicle?
They will be able to tell you how many were produced with your specs.

Im not sure of exact numbers as to how many were optioned with the 390 - 4speed. Defenitely much more rare and worth more too. The Cougar XR-7 came standard with a 4 speed, Except for a medallion on the roof's quarter panel it looked like the standard Cougar, but it came with a woodgrain dash panel and fancier interior. There were 27,221 Cougar XR-7's produced and 123,672 Cougars produced.

the Gt is much rarer than the XR-7 which came with 6.5 litre badging...the Gt was made for the first 3 months...XR-7's followed for many years...

I also had a 67 390 cougar. I bought it new. Was a special order and it cost $118 extra. Mine was red with a black interior and black vinyl top. It had 6.5 liter badges on the front fenders. It was a floor shift automatic.
