Car Restoration Advise?
I would like some first-hand advise from people who have restored a classic car. Tips, Techniques, etc. Also, please give me recommendations-things I should look out for and be aware of about various places I may be dealing with in the restoration. Chromers, painters, etc.

Go to local car shows and cruz-ins and ask the guy sitting in the lawn chair behind the car that you like, where he gets his work done. a real classic car guy loves to talk about his car and will let you know more than enough information on the best shops in your area.

make sure the shops are licensed and insured and bonded, ask for refrences (previous clients) good shops will provide refrences, get a written quote/estimate from several shops, dont go for cheapest, in the restoration business cheap is never good, trust your gut. heres a saying that fits perfectly with restorations and customs, "the bitterness of poor quality lasts long after the sweetness of low price" with the right people helping you out you'll have alot of fun and make some freinds. happy hunting and good luck.
